Transfer License

Transferring a license involves:

1. Transferring the license from the computer (transfer from computer) to 's Validation Server.
2. Transferring the license from 's Validation Server to the other computer (transfer to computer).

You will need an Internet connection to transfer your license.  You don't need to have both computers connected to the Internet at the same time but you will need the capability to connect to the Internet. 

This is not a "copy the license process" but rather a "transfer the license process".    

The transfer license procedure allows you to transfer the current license for CPA from one computer to another.  Once the transfer has been completed CPA will run on the new computer with the remaining license period transferred as well.  CPA will run in DEMO mode on the computer the license was transferred from.  

Note that if you think you might want to transfer the license back to the original computer then DO NOT uninstall CPA from the original computer.  This will allow you to reactivate the license on the original computer if so desired.

The following steps guide you through the Transfer License process.

Step 1:  
  • Run the CPA setup file on the computer you want to transfer the license to.  Note that this new install will only run in DEMO mode until the license is transferred.

    Step 2:  
  • Confirm that the transfer from computer is connected to the Internet.
  • Record the CPA serial number on the transfer from computer.  You can get the serial number from your initial software order or you can start CPA on the transfer from computer (the one with the valid license) and then navigate to the Help-->About CPA window.


  •   Then click on the Transfer License button.



    Step 3:  
  • Confirm that the transfer to computer is connected to the Internet.
  • Start CPA on the computer that you are transferring the license to.  When the Activation Window appears choose the Auto Activate option.  Click on the Continue button.


  • Enter the serial number, including dashes.  Upper or lower case characters are allowed.  Name, email address, and company are not required.  Click on the Continue button.



    Expect a short delay while CPA interacts with the Validation Server.  Once the serial number has been transferred you'll see a message that the transfer was successful.



    You can at a later date transfer the license to a different computer (not to a previously transferred from computer) using the process described above.

    If at a later date you want to transfer the license back to a previously transferred from computer you will have to do two things.

    1. Run the Transfer License routine mentioned above.
    2. Run the Reactivate License routine.
