Flash and backup 3.x from random

Flash and Backup 3.x found at www.motorola-tools.com is a fully capable Motorola phone imaging tool. We do not sell FB3, however it is only $10.00 USD and allows you to run the software in full mode for 14 days should you want to try it first.

Getting started

To use FB3 some customization is required. Please see the steps below to start processing Motorola phones.

1. If you don't have FB3 yet, you can get it here: Flash And Backup 3.x
2. If FB3 is not installed, please install it now.
3. Install the Motorola USB drivers. You can get them here: P2K_drivers
4. Start FB3 and get it registered with the registration key we have sent you. If you don't have a key or you have not purchased the software yet you can continue to use in for 14 days in trial mode.

Before we get started we need to navigate to the Phone Profile files used by FB3. These files can be found in the installation folder, most likely "\Program Files\Motorola Tools". Find the Profile file that matches the phone model you want to image.

You can see from below that the R2611LD_V3x.prof file refers to the generic Motorola V3x model.

Open the Profile file with a text editor like Notepad. We need to ADD a line at the bottom of the CG or Code Groups.

You can see below that we have added the line "ALL" and then an address range. This range will get all of the data we need and save it to a single SMG file.

Now that we have edited the Profile file save it. Go back to FB3 and selected your phone model again. This should reference the Code Groups with our new changes. Now we need to choose the correct File Output type.

With all of our updates and edits you should now see the ALL entry we just created. Select this entry.
